Category & Shopper Marketing Manager Benelux

Your challenge

Reporting to the Shopper and Consumer Marketing Manager Benelux, you will be responsible to increase the category value and to develop market shares of each brand at customer level in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg markets, developing strong customer category plans (with an important focus on the e-commerce channel) and building strong customer relationships in order to grow the business ahead of the market.

You will be accountable for developing a strong customer strategy in line with the business objectives, which will be integrated in the customer business plans through the best integration of the Categories/brands strategy and the customers strategy.

Your responsibilities

More specifically, your role will be to:
  • Define a tailor-made assortment plan to increase category value and market shares of the brands at key customer level, working closely with the category managers of each key retailer
  • Become the E-commerce expert for the Belgian retail team by
    • Implementing & following up on the E-commerce strategy,
    • Optimizing content & tracking digital shelf performance (portfolio availability, perfect digital shelf, Search Engine Optimization),
    • Tracking and measuring the performance of the e-commerce channel
    • Actively building the customer e-commerce network, working closely with Marketing, Sales, Supply chain and Finance to drive business performance
  • Define annual business plans for each customer in terms of assortment, merchandising and promo activities in close collaboration with the KAM & the local Consumer & Trade Marketing manager
  • Win the "shelf battle" in order to increase the market shares of the brands
  • Define the optimal level of promotional intensity by customer and by category, to maximize the efficiency of all activities & investments
  • Create customers- & channel-specific action plans, assist in developing customers relevant Joint-Business-Plans for the Key customers with the greatest growth potential
  • Continuously follow up, evaluate and optimize the business on customer/category level
  • Assist in developing and translate the  trade stories to make them customer-relevant
  • Analyze the categories by channel, by customer and by product, and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of your categories, in order to develop some shopper behavior insights
  • Attend & prepare customer meeting for presenting category management approach and plans
  • Recommend and define with Trade Marketing the best tailor-made programs in the point of sales to engage shoppers

Your profile

  • You’ve got a master degree or equivalent in business or economics 
  • You have acquired an experience of at least 3 years in category management in the FMCG environment and an e-commerce experience
  • You are fluent in French, Dutch and English, both spoken and written
  • You are recognized for your entrepreneurial mindset, you leadership, your autonomy and your learning agility
  • You have a strong team spirit and you know perfectly how to interact with different interlocutors and professionals
  • You know how to demonstrate your open-mindedness, your curiosity as well your critical analysis 
  • You acquired a good understanding of business financials (P&L, value chain) and analytical skills and you are familiar with numbers
  • You are able to adapt the different cultures, markets, customers in a dynamic and fast moving environment
